My wife and I would like to offer our sincerest thanks to everyone that donated to iPhoto Buddy in 2007. With your help, we were able to raise nearly $7,200.00 which was subsequently donated in David's memory to his two favorite charities.

On December 31, 2007 we sent a check for $3,600.00 to the Cancer Therapy & Research Center and another one in the same amount to Feed The Children.

Our original goal was $6,000.00. It goes without saying that we are very pleased to have exceeded that amount by nearly 20 percent.

We are also very grateful for the kind words of sympathy and support that so many of you sent us via email or accompanying your donation.

Here's wishing you all a happy and prosperous 2008.

Thank you again,

Today, our family sadly joined the millions of others around the world that have suffered the loss of a loved one to the scourge that is cancer. My brother-in-law, James David Bowden, passed quietly in his sleep this morning after valiantly battling a rare form of liver cancer for over three years. He was only 54.

David was truly one of those special people whose positive attitude and selfless, caring demeanor left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to have known him. He is survived by his wife, my dear sister, Lori Neil Bowden, his daughter Heather Amburn and her husband Chad along with their daughter Haley James, and his step-daughter Paige Robinson.

As explained on David's Caring Bridge web-page, his favorite charities were the Cancer Therapy & Research Center and Feed The Children.

My wife and I have decided that all iPhoto Buddy donations received during the calendar year 2007 will in turn be donated in David's memory to these two charities. We will split the final amount evenly between the two, and make the donations before the end of the year. This page will be updated periodically with the amount to be donated, and a notice of the final donation amounts will be posted here in early January, 2008.
